Looking For A New Project? Turn A Dumpster Into A Pool

If you are trying to come up with a new and interesting DIY recycling project, you might want to think about taking a dumpster and turning it into a pool. Sure, you can buy an above ground pool, but why not be a little different?

A Dumpster Can Be a Pool?

Yes, you can actually turn a dumpster into a pool. True, it won't be a very big pool, and you probably shouldn't dive into it, but it will be a place where you can sit and cool down in the heat. How many people can join you in your new pool depends on how big the dumpster you get is. One of the small flip top dumpsters may work well as a hot tub for two, but the larger construction dumpsters will allow you to have a pool big enough for a party.

How Does a Dumpster Turn into a Pool?

The first thing you need to do is talk to a dumpster rental company like Dibussolo Container Service to see if you can buy one. They will bring it out to your house and set it up so that it will be nice and level. Before you do anything to your dumpster pool, you are going to need to make sure that it's nice and clean. A power washer will probably be the best tool to use here. You can add the soap into the high power spray and get a nice clean dumpster. While you are cleaning, you should also make sure that there are no sharp edges.

After it's all clean, you will want to make sure that it's waterproof. It's no fun getting into your new pool and finding out that there is no water. There are several things that you can use, but one of them is a spray-on truck bed liner. Make sure that you get all the gaps. An added bonus is that the bed liner will also have some texture to it, which will make sure you can keep your footing. You can also totally customize your new pool. You could add weighted boxes so that people can sit in or step out of the pool.

You may get a few weird looks the first time that someone sees that you are swimming in a dumpster, but once they get in and see how nice it is to get away from the heat, they will be a convert.
